Lithuanian theatre and film actress. She is buried in Ramygala Street Cemetery in Panevėžys.
Schooled at Raguva Pro-Gymnasium, later at Panevėžys Girls' Gymnasium. In 1941, she entered the Juozas Miltinis Drama Studio and at the same time continued her studies at the gymnasium. In the last year of the gymnasium she played Inez in the play "Lullaby Song" by M. de Sierra (directed by Juozas Miltinis, 1942).

During more than five decades in the theatre, E. Šulgaitė has created about 120 interesting, exceptional, striking roles. When she came to the theatre, she made her debut with two roles in S. Čiurlionienė's play "Money" - Normantienė and Raudonauskienė. This successful start was followed by other expressive and important roles in Juozas Miltinis's productions, such as Gaškienė in Prieblanda (Twilight), Anna Andrejevna in Revizorii (The Revision), Nastasija in The Marriage of Belugino (Belugino Married), Heda in Heda Gabler (Heda Gabler), and Ledi in Macbeth (Macbeth). The actress also acted in plays by other directors of Panevėžys Drama Theatre - Vaclovas Blėdis, Jonas Alekna, Julius Dautartas, Algimantas Pociūnas, Sauliaus Varnas.
Since 1961 she has been acting in cinema. He has created more than 20 roles.
