Evelina Paukštytė (b. 1980, Panevėžys) is a graphic artist living and working in Vilnius. She graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts with a BA (2006) and MA (2008) in the Department of Graphics. In 2001 she graduated from Kaunas School of Art with a diploma in ceramics. Her final work - a sculptural composition "World Tree" was awarded the main prize of sculptor Juozas Zikaras.
As of 2018, the artist has been engaged in her creative practice in her studio. Painting and illustrations are Paukštytė's main creative activities, but she also creates objects, sculptures, installations, etc.
Paukštytė's work is a subtle opposition to the monotony of everyday life, where desperate actions rush into the foreground and artificial smiles hide the true essence. It is an eternal search for happiness and meaning, naming the darkest fears and tensions that hide behind the bright colours and cheerful pictures.
Paukštytė has been selected as the ArtVilnius'2023 Art Fair Audience Artist.
