Jazz singer from Latvia, after studying at the Latvian Academy of Music, where she currently teaches, she studied for a year at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia (Italy) with Prof. Maria Pia de Vito, actively participating in various musical projects with local artists. She also spent half a year in Hanover (Germany) with Prof. Romy Camerun.
In 2016 she was awarded the Nic Gotham Prize for her contribution to jazz music and jazz life in Latvia. Evilena has participated in various festivals and projects: the Jazz in Latvia compilation album, Pori Jazz (Finland), Limassol Jazz (Cyprus), Live in Blue Bay (Ukraine), as well as in competitions such as Riga Jazz Stage (Latvia), Nõmme Jazz (Estonia), and the Grand Prix award Jazz Voices 2014 (Lithuania).
Since 2005, Evilena has been the vocalist, composer and leader of the Latvian funk band Pieneņu Vīns, with whom she has participated in numerous festivals and events, securing a strong place in the Latvian music scene. Since 2015, she has also been a composer and vocalist in the project "JAZZATOMY".
Evilena actively collaborates with Latvian jazz musicians and participates in various projects with big bands and other ensembles. In addition to her musical activities, she is one of the founders and editors of "JAZZin.lv", Latvia's only online jazz magazine.
