Flavia Huarachi spent years performing as a professional classical and contemporary musician before moving into the improvisation & experimental music scenes of Copenhagen, Denmark.
Versatile in her approach to music, she has collaborated and released within a variety of music genres & groups such as The Space Above & Takykardia and solo artists like Marijke Maes & Andreas Odbjerg. She has worked & performed with composers like Bara Gisladottir & James Black. She has recorded & toured with Brazilian composer & songwriter Raphael Gimenes, and currently working with Aurelijus Uzameckis in a duo, releasing their debut album in 2023.
As a composer she has presented two major ensemble works, based in the memory of the body & decolonization – Ey-Kat-L-lep-see & Anata Jawila.
As a performer, she is known for her warm, open, with deep & diverse colors, flexible sound on the flute, extreme vocal range and strong presence in the stage. Her versatility in different musical languages allows her to collaborate in a broad range of storytelling & transdisciplinary projects.
She holds a Master degree in Performance from The Rythmical Conservatory of Music in Copenhagen, Denmark and a Bachelors degree in Classical Performance and Orchestra performance from the Danish Royal Academy of Music, under the mentorship of Professor Anna Dina Schick Bjørn Larsen.
