Frédéric Borey has been based in Paris since September 2012, where he shares his life between the stage and pedagogy. Saxophonist, composer, it was at the age of 8 that he began studying classical music. Following several first prizes of conservatory (Nancy, Paris, Besançon), he obtained his Diploma of State (DE) in saxophone in 1990, and his Certificate of Ability (CA) in 1992.
In 1993, he moved resolutely to jazz. Jerry Bergonzi's music and pedagogy are the main motivations.
Passionate also by teaching this music, he obtained his DE Jazz in 2001, and his CA Jazz in 2003. He coordinated the Jazz department of Chalon sur Saône for 3 years and it was in 2006 that he opened his own jazz department in Belfort. At the same time, he attended the Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood (CMDL).
Currently, he teaches at the Didier Lockwood Music Centre and the Val Maubué Departmental Rayonnement Conservatory.
