In 1954 he graduated from the LSSR State Art Institute with a degree in painting. "In her best works, the artist achieves not only a pictorial but also a philosophical impact - when one work becomes a metaphor for the whole period", says art critic Laima Kreivytė. One of the central works of the exhibition, which identifies the uniqueness of this painter, is "Women Cleaning Fish" (1969), which was exhibited a couple of years ago in Austria at the Museum of Modern Art in Vienna, in the exhibition "The Control of Sex. Femininity and Masculinity in Eastern European Art".
