Flute player Giedrius Gelgotas is a laureate of international competitions, participant of prestigious music festivals from Lithuania to Japan, member of the Lithuanian Flute Quartet and St. Member and founder of the Kristupas Quintet, artist of the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, docent of the Music Academy of Vytautas the Great University. The performer is a former musician, concertmaster of the orchestras of Cairo (Egypt), Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain) and the National Opera and Ballet Theater. Concerted with Lithuanian, Kaunas, St. Kristoforos, Klaipėda chamber orchestras, Lithuanian state symphony orchestras and many other countries' orchestras, conducted by such maestros as Y. Menuhinas, M. Rostropovičius, B. Haitinkas and others. As a prominent interpreter of contemporary Lithuanian music, G. Gelgotas is the first performer of works by A. Martinaitis, O. Narbutaitė, A. Malcios, F. Latėnas, R. Motiekaitis and other authors, who recorded CDs and recordings for radio funds. In recent years, the artist's concert tours have reached the P. Tchaikovsky Conservatory Hall in Moscow, the Ostrava Festival in the Czech Republic, and the stages of Beirut.
