Greta Staponkute-Rakau started her music career at the age of 7 at Music School of Siauliai city. After the graduation with exceptionally high grades, she carried on her studies at Siauliai Siaulius Sondeckis gymnasium of arts until she was invited to study at prestigious National M. K. Ciurlionis school of arts.
In 2011 she was admitted for the viola performing art study programme in Lithuanian academy of Music and Theatre “Premio Internazionale di Castelfidardo 2017” (Italy). In 2017 she obtained her diploma of Concert Master Degree in Haute École de Musique de Lausanne in Switzerland where she studied with professors G. Karni & A. Zemtsov.
Greta has currently been continuing her 2nd Master studies in Orchestral Interpretation with A. Zemtsov in HEMU Lausanne (Switzerland). Greta has established a magnificent orchestra career. She plays with the various most famous orchestras such as Lausanne Chamber Orchestra (OCL), Sinfonietta de Lausanne, Kremerata Baltica, led by legendary violinist Gidon Kremer, new ensemble “Lausanne Soloists” guided by Renaud Capuçon as well as many others.
