Members of the "DIISSC Orchestra", composers Martynas Bialobžeskis, Jonas Jurkūnas, Vytautas V. Jurgutis and Antanas Jasenka, will perform their own interpretations of the works of different generations of our composers, from the pioneer of Lithuanian professional music, M.K. Čiurlionis, founder of the Lithuanian School of Composers and the Lithuanian Composers' Union, Juozas Grudis, up to the authors who are still working today. Their music will be processed with the help of various club and experimental electronics and improvisations that will be created on the spot; the electronic soundtrack will be complemented by acoustic instruments, recorded and live voices of the performers, and laser music visualisations created by video artist Džiugas Katinas (for which the necessary equipment has been kindly provided by UAB "Optronika").
The DIISSC Orchestra, formed in 2008, has been invited to participate in the most important Lithuanian contemporary music festivals, and has given concerts in Poland and Ukraine. The members of the ensemble perform not only their own compositions, but also music by composers from all over the world, create live video projections for their performances, use disc players, timers, hardware glitches and other "low-tech" devices. "DIISSC Orchestra presents contemporary music as an intriguing musical adventure, a fascinating walk through a wide world of sound, with an unpredictable ending each time. With unexpected scenic solutions and energetic musicianship, the orchestra aims to create the heated atmosphere of a rock concert with contemporary electronic music.
