VARTAI is an experimental rock quintet from Vilnius. Their sound combines heavy guitar drones, droning rhythmic paintings, monotonous vocals and an alternative approach to the folk instrument - the traditional dulcimer.
It's like a process of initiation, a transporting of the listener to a mystical world to meet the unknown. The ritualistic and profound music of Vartai creates a shocking, yet soothing, haunting and sensual sound experience.
