Groove Coverage is a German Euro-Trance/Hands up band. This style evolved from the earlier widespread and popularized European dance music. The Groove Coverage project consists of Dj Novus and Axel Konrad. Melanie Munch (better known as Mell) is the lead vocalist and is backed by singer Verena Rehm. The group created many songs that became famous all over the world, especially in Germany. Representatives of dance music appear quite well even on the radio stations of those countries and cities where trance music is not very popular. They gave listeners new versions of several popular songs, including "Love Is An Angel" by Sylver, "Come With Me" by Special D, "Ass Up" (Baracuda).
Groove Coverage has officially released three albums, Covergirl (2002), 7 Years and 50 Days (2004), and 21 Century (2006). They also released the album Best Of (2005) and a special recording called Groove Coverage (released in Canada), which included all of the band's biggest hits in Canada. The band also released an album in the US called Groove Coverage: Greatest Hits.
Several of the band's songs are new versions of other songs or performed in a different style. Groove Coverage has released a new version of Mike Oldfield's 'Moonlight Shadow' as well as a dance cover of Alice Cooper's 'Poison'. On their latest album, 21st Century, they recorded a version of Bad Religion's "21st Century Digital Boy" called "21st Century Digital Girl". It used the basic format of the first version, but changed the lyrics to emphasize the differences between the subjects of the swapped songs (things like breast implants or botox injections are mentioned). The band released three singles before their latest album 21st Century Digital Girl:"Holy Virgin", a new version (English) of the song "Fata Morgana", the original version of which was created by the Austrian group "Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung", 1986;"On The Radio", a cover of Die Prinzen's song "Mann in Mond";"21st Century Digital Girl", a reply to the Bad Religion song "21st Century Digital Boy".
Prior to the release of the "On The radio" single, another Groove Coverage track titled "On The Radio" was leaked on online file-sharing platforms in several different versions. This track was not at all the song that was on the album. This was an attempt to prevent the sharing of the actual single by "poisoning" the network with different songs of the same name. The track "bait" was released on the album "Let It Be".
