The dancers' group was formed in 2002 under the name of the green mountain pine tree, which is capable of stopping the Curonian Spit's loose sand. Realizing the power of folk dance, the Neringians join the group in families, maturing in themselves a charge of harmony, elegance and good mood.
"Kalnapušė" actively participates in various republican and international festivals, song festivals, projects produced by Lithuanian television, presenting the dance, costumes and traditions of the region of Lithuania's Minor. Concert programmes have been performed in Germany, Hungary, Russia, Latvia, Chicago, the United States of America, Argentina, Austria, Italy, Croatia, Turkey, and at the World EXPO 2012 in South Korea.
The group has won the highest amateur art award in Lithuania "Aukso ptakste" (Golden bird) and the 1st category in the classification of dancing groups according to their artistic level, activities, and results. Winners of the 1st place in the competition "Pair for Pair". Together with Sheiko Theatre participates in various contemporary dance performances.
