ROYCE is a Lithuanian electronic rock group that broke into the primary positions of this style and became pioneers of the "electronic dark synth pop-rock" genre of the modern scene in just six months after the release of their debut album. The album "Black lights" - synthesizer, mystical precision, sharp and dark character, mesmerizing melody, philosophical thought in the lyrics, conveyed with gothic vocals.
in 2013 the assembled group Royce earned the attention of listeners during the two-year "playing the Depeche" project, which obviously colored the group's future work and allowed the birth of today's style of the group's music.
The soul and engine of the group is the ambitious group leader, vocalist and songwriter Ilja Gun. "If you don't pursue your dream, then you will work for the dreams of others," says Ilja. Having created for a long time and participated in various "underground" projects for a decade, he says that he felt that the existing space had become too narrow for development. There was a need for a completely different sense of quality. "I realized that it was time to turn all the ideas and accumulated musical experience into ROYCE. Thoughts come true," says Ilja. The first to believe in Ilja's vision was the drummer Dainius Kažukauskas, who strongly influenced the group's creation. And this is where the ROYCE journey begins!
ROYCE is a perfect combination of rich and mercilessly expressive vocals, synthesizer instrumentation perfectly matching with constantly moving bass parts (Artur Mamin), keyboards sounding in place and time (Justas Katauskis) and longing and a sense of death in the guitar language (Karolis Žioltikovas). The texts are bright with philosophical and clearly understandable meanings, bursting with grotesque and sophisticated, but at the same time easy-to-feel images.
