TWO FACE TIDE - The band was born out of a sincere friendship while Martynas
Šerpitis and Bertram Kvist Lynggaard were studying at the Danish National Conservatory of Music. The aim of the group is to combine different cultural contexts, to experiment and to realise their creative visions by creating original music.
Martynas is a new generation jazz saxophonist and music maker, combining Lithuanian folk motifs, contemporary music and jazz. He has already appeared at almost all Lithuanian jazz festivals and toured Europe with bands such as:
Lithuanian Youth Jazz Orchestra, Nordic Youth Quintet, Humanoid Silhouette, etc.
Bertram is a Copenhagen-based saxophonist and composer whose music is characterised by a fusion of hardbop and Scandinavian tradition. Bertram has been composing music since he was a child and has performed throughout Denmark and Scandinavia.
TWO FACE TIDE has already performed in Lithuania and at the Vinter Jazz festival in Denmark. In Denmark they recorded their first album, Occurrents.
The separately composed compositions combine the characters of the two artists into a single product that invites the audience on an emotional, dissonant yet harmonious journey.
