The children's and youth folklore ensemble "Žilvita" was founded in 2013 in the Kaisiadorys Culture Centre. Since its foundation, the ensemble has been led by Laima Morkūnienė.
The main goal of the ensemble is to preserve, revive and disseminate the time-tested traditions and customs of the Kaisiadori district, passed down from one generation to another. The leader of the ensemble, L. Morkūnienė, encourages young people to learn about and respect the customs of the nation, to take an interest in folklore, to discover the layers of folk wisdom and wit hidden in it, and to cultivate a sense of fellowship and friendship.
Since 2014, the ensemble has been organising the children's and young people's festival "Žilvitis žaliuoja". In 2017, the ensemble was awarded the Golden Bird Award in the nomination "The Best Newly Formed Amateur Art Ensemble and Leader".
"Žilvita" is a constantly changing and growing ensemble, which is currently attended by more than 80 members.
