Gintaras Visockis, Dainius Bervingis, Gediminas Rimša and Haroldas Tankevičius are dancers of Kaunas Musical Theatre, but they have been rehearsing the Funny Beat programme for some time now: tap dancing. It was not easy for the four guys to become tap pioneers in Lithuania. The dance, which is all about beating a rhythm with your feet in specially designed footwear, is not taught in our country. Neither did they a decade ago, when the four members of the future troupe Funny Beat searched the internet for tap videos and material. But now they can teach others. At least, that's what many people said after their debut performance, which can also be described in one word: "showy".
Some of Funny Beat's numbers have humorous elements that made the room burst out laughing. At the end of the concert, on a screen installed on stage, the audience could also see a few minutes' video about the daily rehearsals and work in the workshop - the dancers themselves had built a special dance floor for tap dancing.
