Héctor Sandoval is a Mexican tenor born on August 16, 1969, in Jaripo, Michoacán, Mexico. He began his vocal studies at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City, where he studied with Enrique Jaso. In 1994, he moved to Europe to continue his training at the Superior School of Music and Dramatic Art of Vienna. He further refined his repertoire and vocal technique with renowned artists such as Plácido Domingo, Walter Berry, Luigi Alva, Chris Merritt, Ghena Dimitrova, Ileana Cotrubas, Francisco Araiza, and Nicola Martinucci.
Sandoval has performed leading tenor roles in prestigious opera houses and festivals worldwide, including the Vienna State Opera, Hamburg Opera, Paris Opera, Stuttgart State Opera, Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, Salzburg Festival, Bregenzer Festspiele, Zurich Opera, Bolshoi Theater, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Teatro Regio di Parma, La Monnaie in Brussels, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, and many others across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
His repertoire includes major tenor roles such as Gabriele Adorno in Simon Boccanegra, Manrico in Il Trovatore, Radamès in Aida, Riccardo in Un Ballo in Maschera, B.F. Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana, and Calaf in Turandot.
