In 2003 he graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music with a master's degree in film and TV directing.
One of the most prominent representatives of the young generation of Lithuanian cinematographers. His graduation work - the short film "Lengvai ir saldžiai" (Easily and Sweetly) - sparked a new wave of interest in Lithuanian cinema among the viewers. It was the first commercially successful Lithuanian film, and at the same time well received by film critics. The film has participated in many international film festivals - Rotterdam (Netherlands, 2005), Melbourne (Australia, 2005), Cottbus (Germany, 2004), Hamburg (Germany, 2004), Interfilm Berlin (Germany, 2004), Seoul (Korea, 2004) and others.
