Born and educated in Lithuania at the Vilnius Music Academy (LMTA). In 1995 she moved to Toronto (Canada) where she continued her musical activity as a concertmaster/accompanist for choirs and soloists. She has played with various chamber and instrumental ensembles, and has prepared solo programmes.
I. Damašiūtė-Beres worked as artistic director of the Humbercrest concert studio and later became a member of the chamber music ensemble Calyx. She has participated in the Mid-Summer Music Festival and performed at the Niagara International Chamber Music Festival. In 2003, she participated in the Lithuanian Festival of Returns.
She is currently working successfully in her own private piano studio, and is also the concertmaster of the Volunge Lithuanian Mixed Choir in Toronto.
