In 1992 she graduated from the M. K. Čiurlionis Art Gymnasium, continued her studies at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (Prof. R. Katiliaus violin class, Prof. K. Kalinauskaite chamber ensemble class, R. Kulikauskas quartet class).In 1997 she was invited to play in the international chamber orchestra Kremerata Baltica (director Gidon Kremer). With this ensemble she performed in the most famous concert halls of Europe, America and Asia, and recorded several audio CDs. From 2007 to 2009 she worked with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra (director Sergej Krylov).
Since 2001 I. Gylytė started her pedagogical activity at the national "M. K. Čiurlionis Arts Gymnasium" (chamber ensemble and string departments). Since 2010 she has been working as an associate professor in the chamber ensemble department of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
She has participated in international and national music festivals. She has played solo and in various chamber ensembles in Lithuania and abroad. Her repertoire includes music from various eras, composers and styles. She pays great attention to the music of Lithuanian composers, its editing, recordings and concerts.
