Ingrida Rupaitė-Petrikienė was born in 1979 in Vilnius. She studied at the M.K. Čiurlionis School of Art with A. Gricius and L. Kišonaite, graduating from Professor Jonas Urba's violin class in 1997. That same year, she entered the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, where she completed her bachelor's degree (2001) and master's degree (2003) in Urba's class. During her studies, Ingrida won a diploma at the National Young Performers Competition of Domas Svirskis (1997, Lithuania) and the international chamber ensemble competition in Pavia (1999, Italy). Between 2001 and 2003, she was invited to play first violin in the State Kaunas String Quartet.
With this group, Ingrida successfully performed at the Pažaislis and Gaida festivals and played with prominent Lithuanian and foreign musicians. In 2003, at the initiative of the violinist, the "Art Vio" quartet was formed (Ingrida Rupaitė-Petrikienė (1st violin), Kristijonas Venslovas (2nd violin), Tomas Petrikis (viola), Povilas Javunskas (cello)). With this group, in 2004, she participated in the international chamber ensemble competition in Kuhmo (Finland). For several years, the string quartet participated in master classes in Reichenau (Austria), taught by members of world-famous string quartets ("Amadeus," "Artis," "Bartok," "Hagen," "Janacek," "Smetana"). In 2003, the ensemble became a laureate of the national chamber ensemble competition in Vilnius (second place). In 2005, the Art Vio string quartet was honored to participate in the visit of Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus to Spain, where the ensemble gave a solo representative concert at the Royal Palace.
In 2007 and 2010, two quartet CDs were released. The quartet has also prepared an edition for the publication of sheet music for two string quartets (E. Balsys' string quartet and F. Latėnas' quartet "In extremis"). In 2006, Ingrida began playing in the FortVio piano trio (Indrė Baikštytė (piano), Povilas Jacunskas (cello)), which became laureates of three international competitions - S. Vainiūnas (1st place, 2006), J. Brahms (3rd place, 2006) and S.Tanejevo (2nd place, 2007).
The ensemble actively participated in various master classes. Since 2012, it has been an ensemble of the European Chamber Music Academy, studying with the most prominent professors of chamber music in Europe. As a soloist, Ingrida Rupaitė-Petrikienė has played with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra, Yerevan City Chamber Orchestra "Serenada," and Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra. In 2008, her performance of A. Senderov's violin concerto in Lithuania, Poland, Russia, and Armenia was very successful.
Ingrida performs chamber music and participates in recordings with various instrumentalists, such as pianists Petras Geniušas, Indre Baikštytė, Edvinas Minkštimas, Lukas Geniušas, Eduard Oganesjan, birbynist Egidijus Ališauskas, kanklės player Aiste Bruzaitė, vocalists Aiste Širvinskaitė, Viktorija Milušaitė, Mindaugas Rojus, Edmundas Seilius, Kristina Zmailaitė, Asta Krikščiūnaitė. As a soloist and chamber music performer, the violinist has performed in Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Germany, Iceland, Austria, Portugal, Spain, Russia, Armenia, and elsewhere. Between 2010 and 2015, Ingrida was concertmaster of the St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra of the Vilnius City Municipality (artistic director and conductor Prof. D. Katkus) (she played in this orchestra from 2003). She also works as a teacher at the National M.K. Čiurlionis School of Art, the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, and is the director of the M. Riomeris University String Ensemble.
