Lithuanian-born artist I.Suokaitė was born in 1942 in Saltfeld, Germany, attended the Vasaris 16th Gymnasium, studied at the Stuttgart (1962-1964) and Munich (1964-1969) art academies. She has been a member of the Fürstenfeldbruck Artists' Association since 1985 and a member of the GEDOK group in Munich since 1991. Since 1963, she has been active in joint exhibitions and has held solo exhibitions. Ingryda creates graphic art and paintings. Her paintings are characterised by abstract geometric structures, bright constructive forms and vivid colour contrasts. As early as the 1980s, Ingrid Suokaitė began to use rope as an everyday material that was "alien to art". Today this material has become an integral part of her paintings.
