Irena Jomantienė is a Lithuanian painter whose work is characterized by a subtle depiction of nature and everyday life. In 2022, her painting exhibition “Seeds and Flowers” featured over 20 oil paintings created over the past twenty years. All paintings are inspired by the author’s garden in Vilnius, where she patiently captures the change of colors and shapes taking place in a small area of nature. This “drama of colors and shapes” opens up a broad perspective of the work, encouraging modesty and respect for nature. In addition to painting, Irena Jomantienė is a translator, especially translating literature related to artistic language and aesthetics. She translated the works of Virginia Woolf, which emphasizes the interaction of speech sounds and images, which creates a unique emotional atmosphere in the text. Her translations and editorial work contribute to contemporary art criticism and education in Lithuania. She also participated in artistic and cultural projects related to the Lithuanian Art and Theatre Museums, where iconography, photography and graphics were also examined.
