Jasper Depraetere studied the carillon at the Lille Academy from the age of nine with Koen van Assche. Later he mastered bass guitar and piano at the same academy. From the age of thirteen, he combined his studies at the Academy of Lille with studies at the Royal Carillon School in Mechelen. Jasper graduated from the Royal Carillon School in 2018 with honours. In 2024, he obtained a Master's degree in Carillon and Music Pedagogy with highest distinction from the Lucca School of Arts (Lemmens, Leuven) and is currently pursuing a second Master's degree in chamber music.
In 2015 Jasper won the International Youth Carillon Competition in Deinze, and in 2016 he became President of the Liers Carillon Society and started performing in Belgium and abroad. In 2019 he won second prize and the audience prize at the prestigious Queen Fabiola International Carillon Competition.
Jasper Depraetere is a popular guest carillonist both in Belgium and abroad, having taken part in numerous international carillon festivals. Since 2020 he has been deputy carillonneur of the City of Liege and since this year he has been carillonneur of the City of Molo.
