As a conductor, he has given concerts in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Hungary, the Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Austria, Sweden, North Macedonia, Spain.Member of the LNKC choral industry advisory board. Jury member of various international choir competitions in Latvia and abroad, conducts master classes in Latvia and abroad, author of several scientific articles. Chief conductor of the Baltic States Song Festival, Latvian General Song Festival, Latvian School Youth Song Festival and several other music festivals, artistic director of several Latgale Song Festivals and large music events.Organizer and artistic director of Latvian and international festivals and competitions: International Sacred Music Festival Silver bells, International St. Brock Young Chorus Conductors Competition, O. Stroka International Young Pianists Competition, Christmas Carols Young Performers Competition, M. Rothko International Young Performers Competition, A. Feil International Young Singers Folk Song Competition and others.Cooperates with the Daugavpils theater as a manager and choirmaster of musical performances. J. Ustinskov's compositions for choirs, brass and symphony orchestras were played at various Latvian and regional song festivals.
