She graduated from the vocal department at the University of Music. Fryderyk Chopin in Warsaw in the solo singing class of Professor Jolanta Janucik. She is a finalist and winner of many competitions, including: finalist of the International Vocal Competition Grand Prix de l'Opera in Bucharest (2013) and finalist and winner of the fourth prize and the award for the best alto voice in the International "Cantate-Bach" Competition in Greifswald in Germany (2011). In the years 2013-2015 she was a participant of the Opera Academy of the Grand Theater - National Opera.
Since 2012, as a soloist of the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic in Białystok, she has performed in productions of G. Bizet's Carmen as Carmen, S. Moniuszko's The Haunted Manor as Jadwiga, G. Verdi's Traviata as Flora Bervoix, W. A. Mozart's The Magic Flute as the Third Lady, J. Strauss as Prince Orlofsky, musical Korczak Ch. Williams as Lucy and J. Bock's musical Fiddler on the Roof as Fruma Sarah.
In 2013, Joanna Motulewicz performed as part of the Opera Classica Europa in Frankfurt under the baton of Hans Richter in Nabucco by G. Verdi as Fenen, and in 2015 she began cooperation with the Opera in Frankfurt, where she sang the role of Bronka in M. Weinberg's opera The Passenger, and then in the season 2015/2016 in the operas Triptych by G. Puccini as the Prioress and the Ciesc and The Adventures of the Little Vixen Chytruski by L. Janáček as the Forest Lady and the Owl.
In 2015, Joanna Motulewicz made her debut on the stage of the Grand Theater - National Opera as Martha in the opera The Haunted Manor, and two years later as the widow Larina in Eugene Onegin by P. I. Tchaikovsky. In the 2016/2017 season, she appeared on the stage of the Theater an der Wien for the first time in the play The Passenger by M. Weinberg, once again playing the role of Bronka. As Selinda in A. Vivaldi's opera Farnace, she made her debut at the Dramma per Musica Festival of Baroque Operas in Warsaw.
In the 2017/2018 season, Joanna Motulewicz played the roles of Larina in Eugene Onegin in the production of the Grand Theater - National Opera at the Dubai Opera, Bronka in The Passenger at the Frankfurt Opera and Mercedes in the premiere production of Carmen on the stage of the Grand Theater - National Opera.
The artist has performed her concert repertoire at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw and the Krakow Philharmonic. K. Szymanowski, the Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz, the Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice, the Opole Philharmonic. J. Elsner, the Zielona Góra Philharmonic. T. Baird, Podkarpacka Philharmonic in Rzeszów.
