He inherited his father's passion for music and it was at the age of 13 that he wrote his first songs and sang them on the stages of the MJC des Yvelines. The many trips he was lucky enough to make during his childhood nourished his musical culture. At the age of 18, he began a 9-month trip to Tahiti, where he began learning the trumpet. Upon his return, Jonathan joined the Afro-Caribbean group Nassara as a trumpeter and backing vocalist. For 6 years, African and Caribbean music nourished his musical culture. In 2013, Jonathan released his first album, Eponyme Jonathan Dassin, an anthology of his years spent composing on his piano. In 2020, he worked closely on the development of the tribute album to his father Joe Dassin "à toi". He performed "Marie-Jeanne" and "Siffler sur la colline" with Carla. Since 2023 Jonathan has started a tour where he covers the most beautiful songs of his father Joe.
