Biography
My professional life and interests circle around music, creativity, education. In other words, making a difference in a beautiful way. The last eight years, since I have chosen my path as a music educator, I have been juggling with multiple roles as a student, performer, teacher and researcher.
Over that time I...
have been working in different educational settings, such as schools, children and amateur choirs, conferences;
have been teaching different subjects, such as choral singing, general musicianship, piano, eurythmics;
have been learning in different countries, such as Lithuania, Austria, Hungary and the United Kingdom; and
have been studying different subjects and approaches, from purely practical musicianship to pedagogy, to methodology, to educational research and philosophy.
I believe that arts education matters because it contains the essence of humankind and allows us to interact with the world in a conscious, honest, creative and human way. Moreover, I believe art allows us to create the world, searching for new meanings, forms, shapes, sounds and ideas. Therefore in my educational views, I strongly support ideas of interdisciplinarity, critical thinking, creativity and social justice to achieve the kind of education that successfully interacts with a complex and demanding reality.
