Judita Leitaitė is rightfully considered a star of chamber singing and the most charming Lithuanian mezzo-soprano. She graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and studied singing secrets at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg under famous vocal coaches Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Carlo Bergonzi, and Thomas Krause. In 2004, she was awarded the Order of Vytautas the Great. Judita Leitaitė sings not only in Lithuanian but also in French, Russian, Italian, and other languages, and performs concerts in many European countries, as well as the USA, South Africa, Israel, Russia, and Scandinavian countries. She is a laureate of international competitions and participates in various music festivals. Judita Leitaitė also sings in sacred music and teaches singing at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, as well as at the B. Dvarionas Decade Music School. She has recorded several vinyl and twelve compact discs, and her voice can be heard on a CD dedicated to Pope John Paul II's visit to Lithuania. For her merits to Lithuanian culture, Judita Leitaitė has been awarded the Order of Vytautas the Great, the Government's Culture and Arts Prize, the Golden Disc Award, and the Ministry of Culture Honorary Sign of "Carry Your Light and Believe."
