Juliа Aleksandra is a Lithuanian pianist, improviser, and music creator. Her repertoire includes a wide stylistic spectrum of music: opuses by classical and contemporary composers, cinema music, original transcriptions, intuitive improvisations, as well as her original music compositions that have been appreciated by the public and the world-known music grands.
As a soloist, Julia has performed in Lithuania, Estonia, Catalonia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Spain, Scotland, Cyprus, Latvia, Russia, the United States (New York).
She graduated with a Master’s degree from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, studying classical piano with Prof. Aleksandra Zvirblyte. She has also graduated with a second Master’s degree from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, studying contemporary improvisation with Prof. Anto Pett. Other teachers have included Agustí Fernández, Anatolijus Senderovas, Arturas Anusauskas, Pierre Réach, and Aleksandra Juozapenaite-Eesmaa.
Julia is a laureate of numerous national and international piano contests. She has also participated in various international projects and festivals of classical and jazz music, and contemporary improvisation, including Nordic Improweek “Improvise to Improve” Finland, 2015; "Modernizing European Higher Music Education through Improvisation - METRIC" Estonia 2016; "Modernizing European Higher Music Education through Improvisation - METRIC" Scotland 2018.
Julia represented the Republic of Estonia in 2018 at the World Lithuanian Meeting in Vilnius, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the restored state of Lithuania, where she performed her own music.
Nowadays, Julia is actively making music performances in Lithuania and abroad. She is also developing her own music courses about the intuitive music improvisation. More information about the upcoming projects will be announced in due course.
