Julija Karaliūnaitė has been a creator and member of the Musicians' Union since 2014. She is also the director of the public institution "NB8 ART". Since 2017, she has been working at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre as a concertmaster-illustrator. Julija has a musical education: she studied piano at B. Dvarionas Music School, conducted the Vilnius University Girls' Choir "Virgo", and studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, where the most important studies were in the singing class of prof. Irena Milkevičiūtė and in the chamber singing class of Judita Leitaitė. J. Karaliūnaitė also completed her studies at the Vilnius Opera Studio in 2012. She also participated in an internship at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre in 2018-2019.
J. Karaliūnaitė's professional achievements include performing the role of Musetta in the opera "La Boheme" by G. Puccini at the "Jerusalem Lyric Opera Festival 2021" in Jerusalem (Israel) and at the "Narva Opera Days" in Narva (Estonia) in 2021 (conductor Atvars Lakstīgala (Latvia), director Neeme Kuningas (Estonia), orchestras in Ashdod and Liepaja). Julija also sang at the gala concert at the Narva Opera Days festival. Since 2012, she has been singing at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre (LNOBT). She has also participated in contemporary opera productions, such as O. Narbutaitė's "The Bugle" (LNOBT), R. Šerkšnytė's "Five Miracles of Mary" (LNOBT), and G. Holloway's "The Singing Lesson" (NOA Festival).
J. Karaliūnaitė has participated in festivals such as "Jerusalem Lyric Opera Festival" (Israel), "Narva Opera Festival" (Estonia), "Ultima" (Norway), "Maskespil" (Copenhagen, Denmark), "Pažaislis Music Festival", "Druskomanija" and "NOA" (Lithuania). She is also a laureate of the international vocal competition in Rome and the Republican vocal competition of Vince Jonuškaitė-Zaunienė.
J. Karaliūnaitė has worked with numerous conductors and directors, such as A. Lakstīgala, M. Staškus, R. Šervenikas, S. Quatrini, J. Geniušas, C. Diederich, N. Paszkowski, G. Gelgotas, M. Pitrėnas, D. Katkus, K. Variakojis, N. Kuningas, C. Mazzavillani Muti, V. Boussard, G. Šeduikis, J. Sodytė, and M. S. Šimulynaitė.
