Eglė Norkutė (b. 1993) is a Lithuanian artist, based in Vilnius. Graduated from Kaunas Art Gymnasium, since 2012 studied at Vilnius Academy of Arts, Painting Department. 2016 acquired a Bachelor's degree, continued her studies at the Kocelova23 Painting Studio in Bratislava, Slovakia, led by lector Mgr. art. Claudia Kosziba, ArtD. 2019 acquired a Master's degree in painting at Vilnius Academy of Arts. Eglė Norkutė is a member of Lithuanian artist union. She is represented by The Rooster gallery.
Eglė Norkutė is an active participant of group exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad since 2016. Notable exhibitions: “Folk Art inspirations”, (LT, 2016, Kaunas Picture Gallery); "Zimný Prieskum 2017", (Kocelova23, 2017, Bratislava, Slovakia); "Counter-arguement", (LT, 2018, 2020, Meno parkas, Kaunas), Two-Author Exhibition with Genevieve Cohn (2018, Seville, Spain), "Receptive Barrier", "Speaking in Dog Tongues" Porto, Portugal. The artist has held 3 solo exhibitions 2016-2020. Her solo show "Ruins, Remains Relics and Still lifes" held at the Rooster galery (LT, Vilnius, 2020) participated in Vilnius gallery weekend programme. Eglė Norkutė has participated in contemporary art quadriennale Q19:Memorabilia (LT, Vilnius, 2019) and XVIII International Vilnius Painting Triennial (LT, 2020).
Eglė Norkutė was shortlisted for Young Painter Prize Finalists in 2018 and 2019. In 2019 she won the Rooster gallery prize in the Young Painter Prize competition. During a 2018 group exhibition “Memento Mori. Aukštaitija in Art" at the Panevėžys City Art Gallery, Egle Norkute was awarded for her work “Natural histories. Landscape at the table."Egle Norkute was awarded educational and personal grants of the Lithuanian Council of Culture for three times 2018-2020. Since 2019 Eglė Norkutė is a member of the Lithuanian Artists' Union. Her artist's work was included in the art book, commemorating 30 most promising Lithuanian painters from the youngest generation "#30 New Lithuanian Painting ” released by Artseria publishing house
Egle Norkute has participated in A.I.R.GENTUM Hoja de Ruta (Castilblanco de los Arroyos, Spain) and De Liceiras 18 (Porto, Portugal) art residencies.
