Lives and works in London from 2021. After graduating from the Latvian Academy of Arts with a BA in Ceramics (2020), she went on to complete her MA at the Royal College of Art (2022). Working interdisciplinarily across several different media including ceramics, glass and metal, she focuses on creating different narratives that challenge the use of ceramics through installations and sculptural works. Karlina is currently looking to develop her research on the combination of ceramics with glass and is interested in the material polylogue of the elements used. Her works, which create a flow between the space in which the pieces inhabit and the synthesis of antipathetic materials, allow the viewer to interact with her pieces in unique ways. Mežecka's debut solo exhibition, Archive of Fragility, took place this year at Kim? Contemporary Art Centre.
