In 1991, he received a Soros Foundation scholarship and attended masterclasses at the Royal College of Music in Manchester. Kazys further developed his knowledge and skills in orchestral arrangement and conducting while interning in the Netherlands in 1993, and while interning in the Royal Navy's brass band in Great Britain in the same year. In 2001, he had the opportunity to enrich his arrangement experience by interning at Rundel Publishing (Germany), and in 2006, at De Haske (Netherlands). Since 1986, Kazys has been a lecturer at the LMTA conducting department, and since 2012, he has been an assistant professor at the LMTA. He also worked as a professor of instrumentation and conducting at the Tallat-Kelpša Conservatory in Vilnius from 1987 to 2011, and was the conductor and arranger of the VPIO "Trimitas" from 1983 to 2013. Kazys Daugėla conducted over 400 concerts for the "Trimitas" Wind Orchestra, preparing over 50 programs featuring his own original or arranged compositions. He was recognized with 1st place at the Leeuwardeno Tattoo International Festival (Netherlands 2000) and 2nd place at the International Orchestral Championship in Giulianova (Italy 2006).
