The art is conceptual and focuses on thinking about the work of the stone engraver and the essence of lithography in general [...] The multi-coloured prints made from the ends of lithographic stones are related to lithographic printing, for example. They are a kind of ready-made work, and Marcel Duchamp was one of Berg's inspirations. Together, they in a sense launched a theme that is important to him, which he calls totems [...] For Berg, totems refer to single artefacts or objects isolated from their environment, which take on a certain ritual significance. They are mainly depicted as silhouettes. Berg looked for "some religious spirit in them, without being religious at all".
