Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, serving in the 19th Government of the Republic of Lithuania.
In 2002, Kęstutis Budrys started working at the State Security Department as an inspector, later serving as a senior inspector, head of department and deputy head of the board. In 2004, he graduated from the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of Vilnius University, where he received a master's degree in political science.
In 2009–2015, K. Budrys served as an advisor to the President of the Republic of Lithuania on intelligence and defense policy issues. In 2014, following the resignation of Jonas Markevičius, he was temporarily appointed as the President's Chief Advisor on National Security Issues. In 2015, he was appointed Deputy Director of the State Security Department of Lithuania, and in 2020, he was reappointed for another five-year term. In 2022, he was appointed as the President's Chief Advisor on National Security Issues.
In 2024, Prime Minister-designate Gintautas Paluckas proposed his candidacy for the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs.
