The artist will go down in the history of Lithuanian music as a jazz composer. He formed his first famous jazz trio in 1979 and performed with it at Lithuanian and foreign jazz festivals. The trio included bassist Valerijus Nazarovas and drummer Edmundas Malinauskas. Later, M.Granovskaja joined the group. In 1980, under the direction of K. Lušas, the Trade Union Jazz Ensemble became the winner of the Liepaja Amber competition, and was awarded the title of the absolute best ensemble at the Amber Triube competition in Kaunas. In 1978, 1980 and 1982 he was named the best instrumentalist at the aforementioned festivals and at the Birštonas Festival.
In 1987-1990 he performed with saxophonist Petr Vyšniauskas in Poland, Finland (Pori Jazz Festival), Austria (Vienna Jazz Festival), Russia, Belarus (Slaviansky Bazaar) and Ukraine. In 1977-1982 he worked on joint projects with Gintare Jautakaite, in 1984-1994 with M. Granovskaja. In 1995 he was a member of the group "Rondo". Popular projects of K.Lušas were "Gulag Universe" (1990-1992) and "Baliai" (1995-1997).
As a music producer, he worked on TV projects "Švieski me again" (TV3, 2007-2008), "Our days - as a holiday" (LRT, 2008-2009). Among the most popular songs by K.Lušas - "Spring in Winter"," Nothing, but love", "Sniegena", "Beggar's song", "Tamsus langas", "Red shermuksniai", "I don't need the wind".
K.Lušas has played with a number of national jazz masters, and has been a frequent participant of the Kaunas and Birštonas Jazz Festivals. One of his most recent performances was also at the Kaunas Jazz Festival, when the pianist took to the stage for the sixth time to perform his original compositions. A few years ago, the artist and his associates tried to establish a jazz club in Vilnius, but this initiative was not destined to take root.
Other projects: in 2007, he was the project leader of the "From Christmas to New Year" series of events at the Kaunas Philharmonic. Performers - Viktoras Malinauskas, Linas Adomaitis, Vytautas Petrušonis, Karina Krysko, Žilvinas Brazauskas.
