Born in Singapore, Australian-Chinese national Kris grew up among different cultures and artistic expressions. He moved to Taiwan with his family at the age of 8, where he began to study music and martial arts. Later, Kris joined the U-theatre high school curriculum, where he studied martial arts, gymnastics, music, composition and drums.
After leaving school at the age of 16, he started studying dance and enrolled at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Germany, where he graduated with a BA in Dance at the age of 21 and was immediately invited to join the Aura Dance Theatre company.
