Lithuanian art historian, exhibition curator, poet, artist, LGBT activist.
1995 graduated in History and Theory of Art from Vilnius Academy of Arts (VDA), 2000 graduated in Culture and Gender Studies from Central European University in Budapest. Since 1996 she has been a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts. From 1996 to 2016, she worked at 7 Days of Art and Literatura ir mene.[citation needed] From 2017 to 2019, she was the head of the Lithuanian Council for Culture and Art.
Since 1995, she has curated more than 50 exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad, including the Baltic Pavilion at the 3rd Prague Biennial, the Lithuanian Pavilion at the 53rd Venice Biennial, the National Art Gallery's permanent exhibition of the XXth-XXI centuries, and Lithuania's first LGBTQ art history exhibition, "From Twilight to Dawn. 20 Years of LGBT Freedom in Lithuania" at the Contemporary Art Centre.
He has published two books of poetry, Sapphas Skai(s)tykla (2013) and Arithmetic of Proximity (2019), and has compiled albums of the work of Kęstutis Zapkus and Marija Teresė Rožanskaitė. She hosts the radio programme "From the Balcony" on the LRT Classics programme.
Member of the Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Art Creators' Union, the International Association of Art Critics, and the Writers' Union. Winner of the Government Prize for Culture and Art.
