Linas Liandzbergis is an atypical artist in the context of Lithuanian art. The painter, who has been working in the field of performance and video for more than a decade, is again painting intensively. This phenomenon is constantly attracting attention: how action art forms can influence traditional art fields, how much the definitions of modern and postmodern art are changing. Linas Liandzbergis' paintings are rational, logical, constructive, as if defined by a predefined plan of action. The subjects are varied, inspired by interpretations of landscapes, musical themes and pop culture motifs. The dominant colour palette is bright, resonant and often decorative, organically complemented by objects glued together in expressive shapes and colours - small children's toys, lego construction pieces or artificial flowers. The sensual element of the painting seems to be encoded by the insertion of computer-styled images. The paintings of Linas Liandzbergis become not a charge of emotion, but of intellect, through which a healthy ironic view of the world subtly penetrates. I think that different forms of inner liberation have positively influenced the painting of Linas Liandzbergis, which has purposefully expanded the boundaries of Lithuanian expressive colourism from pop art manifestations towards conceptual painting. The inner drama of the paintings is mostly concentrated in the colour spots, it is not an overt outpouring of emotions. Therefore, we are not talking about impressions or existential suffering, but about the selection of states and their universal rational recording. It is intriguing, it encourages intellectual speculations, and the balanced rhythmicity of the sonorous tones is calming and positive.
