Linas Mikuta was born in 1980 in Klaipėda, Lithuania.
In 2003 he graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre with a degree in theatre directing.
In 2005-2008 he worked as an assistant to the director at the Lithuanian Opera and Ballet Theatre with directors such as Robert Wilson ("St.Robert Wilson (The Passion of St. John's), Anthony Minghela (Madame Butterfly), Eimuntas Nekrošius (Die Walkure), Francesca Zambello (The Little Prince), Johnatan Miller (La Traviata), Dalia Ibelhauptaitė (La forza del destino).
In 2006 Linas Mikuta had a traineeship at the Oper Frankfurt, Germany, and worked at the Tel Aviv -Yafo Opera Theatre on "La forza del destino", 2008.
Since 2009 Linas Mikuta has started to work on film projects. In the same year, Mikuta wrote the screenplay for the short feature film "Nothing I Don't See", which won first place in the script competition organised by the SKALVIA Film Centre.In 2010, together with Kristina Sereikaite, Mikuta co-directed the short feature film "Unfortunate Scenario", which was screened at film festivals in Lithuania and abroad.
