from Vilnius, Lithuania. Born in 2000, he began his musical path at the age of 5, learning violin at the M. K. Čiurlionis National School of Art for 4 years. At the age of 9, Liudvikas started playing cello and enrolled at Balys Dvarionas music school. He graduated in 2018, performing his first recital, and entered the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre where he studies under prof.Edmundas Kulikauskas.
L. Silickas participated in several significant international projects. At the age of 13, he received an invitation to participate in the World Peace Orchestra in New York. During this event, which brought young musicians together from all over the world, he performed at Avery Fisher Hall, sharing the stage with prominent violinist Alexander Markov. In 2015, he took part in the Lithuanian – Belgian youth orchestra in Bruxelles, Belgium. Liudvikas is a prizewinner of many
international solo and chamber music competitions. In 2017, he won 1st place at the Balys Dvarionas competition and received a special prize for the best performance of the Romantic Period piece. L. Silickas won Grand Prix at the International chamber music competition „Sąskambiai“for his performance of J. Haydn‘s Cello Concerto No. 1 and J. Massanet‘s piece „Meditation“. He also participates in numerous cello and chamber music masterclasses with renowned professors, such as Marko Ylönen, Gleb Pysniak, Henry – David Varema and Petras Kunca.
In 2019 Liudvikas began playing at the progressive classical music ensemble New Ideas Chamber Orchestra, led by famous Lithuanian composer and conductor Gediminas Gelgotas. With NICO, he
performed at prestigious music festivals such as Odessa Classics (Ukraine), NOMUS (Serbia) and played alongside well-known classical musicians such as Vytautas Sondeckis, Roman Patkoló, and David Nebel.
