Mae studied opera singing at the prestigious Tokyo University of the Arts. Later, he furthered his opera singing skills at the Suntory Opera Academy in Japan. After moving to Italy in 2016, Ms Hayashi studied baroque and classical singing at the Civica Scuola in Milan, followed by an apprenticeship with the world-renowned singer Sonia Prina at the Verona Academy of Baroque Singing. Debut roles: Countess Agnese in Il Conte di Marsico, Ragonde in Rossini's Count Ory, The Sorceress, Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro at the Teatro Litta in Milan, Ionuccio E. Humperdinck's "Hansel and Gretel", Aunt Duchess in G. Puccini's "Sister Angelica", Zita in "Gianni Scicchi", Azucena in "Il trovatore", Dirindina D. Scarlatti's Dirindina, Rosina in The Barber of Seville, Flora in La Traviata, the Princess in Adriana Lecouvreur, and many others.
In December 2020, the singer appeared as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of Gioachino Rossini at the prestigious Rossini Gala Concert in the Massimo S. Cecilia Hall in Rome, under the direction of Sergio Monterisi. In 2018 she won first prize at the Città di Penne International Competition, the same year she triumphed at the Lirica sul Tevere International Opera Competition in Orte and made her solo debut in Mozart's Coronation Mass at the Church of S. Marco in Rovereto in the prestigious competition "250th Anniversary of the First Mozart Concerto in Italy" organised by the Italian Mozart Association. In the same year she triumphed in the Cimarosa Singing Competition.
Critic Fabio Tranchida says: "Ms Hayashi is a rare example of a pure contralto, with enormous extension and a deep but flexible voice. She is a modern Marilyn Horne with a demon inside".
