Classical guitarist Mark Leighton graduated with first class honours from the Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of internationally-acclaimed guitarist Craig Ogden, after receiving a scholarship in 2016.
In Mark’s second year at the RNCM he set up the Quartic Guitar Quartet, an ensemble focused on creating innovative arrangements of both well-known and rarely heard musical works – originally not written for guitar quartet. The group created audio visual recordings of their work.
Mark was recently awarded first prize at the Gordon Crosskey Guitar Prize.
