Recently, this musician has blossomed in the context of contemporary and improvisational music, but his musical horizons are far from limited to these two directions. He also plays in the klezmer/Balkan music collective "Rakija Klezmer Orkestar", pays a lot of attention to getting to know the music heritage of Eastern Europe, Middle East.After completing the studies of contemporary music and free improvisation at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, M. Kurtinaitis began to be interested in the possibilities of expanding the sound of the tuba. This creator gained special attention after performing the program "Solo for four tubas". During it, the tubas arranged around the listeners created a spatial, spherical sound experience.In "Improdimensije", M. Kurtinaitis will present a somewhat modified program, in which fragments of "Solo for four tubas" will combine with new experiments and the sounds of a prepared tuba. This will be a great proof that the talk about the renaissance of the tuba on the Lithuanian scene is not out of the question!
