Mindaugas Juodis (born 1970) currently lives and creates in Kaunas. His self-taught artistic journey has led him to pursue various forms of expression, from performances and musical projects to jewelry-making, sculpture, and painting. Since 1996, he has actively participated in 13 solo painting exhibitions and seven jewelry exhibitions, as well as numerous group exhibitions. Art historian Dr. Dalia Karatajienė has compared Juodis to the Montmartre painters, noting his willingness to experiment with different forms and mediums. Though primarily a painter now, Juodis' earlier work in jewelry-making influenced his stylistic approach, with his paintings featuring anthropomorphic forms rendered in muted, often achromatic colors. Their indeterminate, enigmatic quality imbues them with a sense of archaic timelessness, while their physical proximity to the viewer reflects the artist's humanistic sensibility.
