Latvian soprano Monta Martinsone has a bachelor’s degree in opera singing from Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Music Academy, a master’s degree in opera singing from Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater (prof. Asta Krikščiūnaite) and a master’s degree in baroque singing from Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Music Academy (prof. Māris Kupčs). She has also participated in masterclasses with Joy Mammen (Australia), Elisabeth Sasso-Fruth (Leipzig), Axel Everaert (Belgium), Nadia Kurem (Estonia) and others.
With a great success she has sang Flora in B. Britten’s “The turn of the screw”, Atossa in F. A. Feichtner’s “Cyrus and Casandana”, Galatea in G.F. Handel’s “Acis and Galatea”, Beatrise in P. Buravicky’s “Spazio Bar”, Röschen in J. A. Hiller’s “Die Jagd”, Clorinda in C. Monteverdi’s “Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda”, Cloe in F. Rebel’s “Ismene”, Filia in G. Carissimi’s “Japhte”, Ammarillis in G. F. Handel’s “Il pastor fido”, Euridice in G. Caccini’s “Orfeo”.
Monta Martinsone has performed with such organists as Larisa Carjkova, Larisa Bulava, Edīte alpe, and with such orchestras as Collegium Musicum Riga, Latvian National Opera Orchestra, The Vilnius City Munivcipality St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra, Klaipeda Chamber Orchestra.
Big role in her carieer plays also contemporary music. She has participated in many contemporary music festivals such as Jaunās Latviešu Mūzikas dienas, music festival GAIDA and others. As soloist she has sung in Germany, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Russia, Finland, Estonia and Norway.
