Mykolas Palionis, died in January 1908. He died at the age of 37. The deceased was one of the most famous Lithuanian artists-lovers in St. Petersburg in his time. He participated in almost every Lithuanian play, either performing important roles and directing, or reciting verses, often written by him. Taking care that the Lithuanians would have more to show on stage, his friend Mr. K. B translated the comedies from Polish: “Uncle Arrived”, “Better Later than Never” and “Žilė Galvon — Velnias Vuodegon”. The latter was translated by himself. Pagalios decided to write an original comedy about the life of Lithuanian farmers. The idea was born, apparently, in 1904. During his spare time from work (the deceased served in the Department of the Ministry of Railways), he began writing a comedy, which he later gave the title: "You Can't Blow Against the Wind Anymore." While writing, he read it in parts to his friends, and with their advice, he made some corrections. Having finished writing the comedy, he did not have time to rewrite it from the draft.
