Nerijus Erminas is a conceptual sculptor whose works are characterised by a sensitive transformation of reality into surreal, subconscious experiences. In his narrative installations, easily recognisable details of human life and everyday situations are transformed, tilted in an unusual direction that is far removed from reality, and the viewer is drawn into a never-ending game of meaning. The inconsistent narratives in Ermin's works are created by consistently studying situations that are insignificant from the point of view of the viewer. This creative strategy and subjective gaze chosen by the artist encourages the (re)observation of the invisible. The plots of Ermin's works are formed not only by observing and studying the rituals of everyday life, but also by interpreting the cultural and political context, history, religion and by conveying personal and collective experiences. The independent objects in the exhibitions are arranged in a manner similar to stage design, avoiding polysyllabic language and delving into the inner connections of objects. In sensitive compositions, the artist explores issues that are relevant and recognisable to everyone, with a strong focus on emotional experience.
