Noémie Merlant is a French actress, director and singer, born on 27 November 1988 in the 15th arrondissement of Paris1,2.
She first came to prominence in the early 2010s with the role of the painter Marianne in Céline Sciamma's period film Portrait de la jeune fille en feu (2019), alongside Adèle Haenel. For this role, she won both national and international acclaim, scooping the Lumière for Best Actress and a second César nomination.
Thanks to this role, she became one of the new faces of cinema, working with a number of prestigious directors including Jacques Audiard, Louis Garrel, Todd Field, André Téchiné and the duo Olivier Nakache - Éric Toledano.
After two nominations, she won the César for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Clémence in L'Innocent, 2023.
